I am a college student looking to legally sell websites that I create to local businesses. What to do?

Someone told me that I should start my own LLC (limited liability company) in order to do this. Is this a good idea? Should I do something different? I am very unfamiliar with the processes involved. If someone could refer me to helpful resources, that would be great! Thanks guys!
