Serious iTunes problems, installer not responding?

Itunes won't install or reinstall. Tried the system restore thing, and it never would complete successfully. Trying to uninstall iTunes, AGAIN, and it like stalls at a certain second (ex. 18 seconds remaining, 32 seconds remaining....), and it never moves from there. Then I got a box that said installer is no longer responding. Somebody, please tell me what the HECK to do, becuase i'm computer illiterate. Oh & i'm screwing with iTunes, because it stopped working in the first place..Thanks.
