Just my imagination, or are most Protestant Churches based on NOT being Catholics?

I go to a Bible Study. Occasionally, I will be stupid and mention the fact that I am Catholic. I will then get the treatment on why the Catholic Chuch is the of Babylon and why the Pope is the Antichrist. Hello. We have heard this for 500 years. It ain't news any more. Why not tell me why your church is so hot. Why do I get (the same) canned lecture?
