Thoughts about traveling to Belize?

I'm a little overwhelmed by all the planning involved in a big trip, and would really appreciate ANY tips. I want to go on an awesome trip this time next year (or later, depending on how soon I get started planning haha) I've been thinking about visiting Belize, since I'm stoked about anything having to do with the Maya, and the fact that it's an English-speaking country, since I don't speak other languages. Thoughts? Suggestions? Interesting tidbits? Thanks!
